Eva Sjuve. Eva Sjuve, is exploring the intersection of sound, performance and mobile media. She is developing physical interfaces for augmented music performance, and is implementing musical composition for mobile devices. Eva Sjuve has been developing physical interfaces for live performance since the late 1990s, using max/msp and later pure data for audio processing, while she was living in New York City. Her research is in embedded devices, wireless tools and performance. She has been participating in exhibits in Europe, Asia, Australia, USA and South America, at venues such as the Australian Center of Contemporary Art, Melbourne, Australia; Kunsthaus Dresden, Germany; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki, Finland; European Media Arts Festival, Germany; Centre dArte Contemporain de Normandie, France; CAEIT, California Institute of the Arts, USA; Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba, among others. Eva Sjuve received numerous awards, including a Jurys Award from New York Exposition of Short Film and Video in 1996, for her video ''Mytholygi'', examining parallell cultural spaces, as well as an Honorary Award at CYNETart-00, Dresden in Germany for her sound composition ''Astro Turf'', exploring auditory spaces. In 2006 Eva Sjuve was awarded an Artist in Residency by the Nordic Ministry of Culture at the Norwgian Theatre Academy, to develop wireless interfaces for performance. Eva Sjuve holds a MPS from the Interactive Telecommunications Program ( ITP ), New York University, US (Terminal degree in interaction design/applied technology). She holds a MA in Art Theory from Lund University, Sweden, including Master's studies in Film and Theater. She studied music at Centre de Creation Musicale de Iannis Xenakis ( CCMIX ) in Paris, and studied computer arts and electronic arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City for three years.
