Nascent - Art & Technology Research People:

Researchers located in nascent represent a broad range of backgrounds, interests and practices. Their interests converge in practice-based and applied research around the transformative qualities of digital technologies. Like the research projects that are being developed through nascent, researchers embrace transdisciplinarity as an inevitable consequence and emergent principal of digital practice, where theory and practice / form and content, are reflexively linked.

MPhil/PhD supervisors are drawn from the A∑Tec (Arts, Science, Technology) Research Consortium, from across the Faculties of Technology and Arts, and research specific/relevant disciplines from across the University of Plymouth.

Within A∑Tec there is a strong heritage of cross-group supervision. The lab/studio space occupied by Nascent / i-DAT and A∑Tec facilitates rich interactions between researchers.

Nascent has been successful in finding research grants and project funding for several of its full time researchers. Part Time and international students can be supported by telematic interaction but are also required to spend face-to-face time with their supervisors.
